Grades 7 and 8
Rising Eagles Club serves boys in grades 7 and 8 who live in RSU 14. Coaches from the high school give their time, so joining costs nothing. Organized within the Windham Youth Basketball Association, the club connects youth basketball with the high school program and keeps young players close to the Windham Eagles as they grow.
Twice weekly, the squad gets together to practice outside or inside as space allows. Games follow against teams from nearby towns, along with AAU tournaments held weekly.
Alumni Giving Back
Alumni often stand on the sidelines as coaches, sharing lessons from their playing days. Most of today’s roster started out in Windham’s youth basketball system.
Our Goal
Our goal centers on three things: fun, safety and solid instruction for boys who step on the court.
Families join no matter what they can pay, and participating doesn’t factor into roster decisions at the middle school or the high school. The club also operates separately from Windham’s high school athletic program.
There has always been a disconnect between the middle school program and our high school program, in terms of development and relationship building. We feel this is an opportunity to help further develop players who love to play basketball. We understand the climate that basketball has become and the expense of those opportunities. We feel we can help make a difference in our community and donate our time to help our youth enjoy their friends and the game of basketball. The Rising Eagles Club is another option for our Windham community.Coach Pulkkinen, Varsity Basketball Coach
