Favorite Windham Memories

On the court there are so many memories that come to mind. The competition and atmosphere are two things that really stand out. The atmosphere was a huge testament to the support and turnout from the community and fans. The SMAA was very competitive and had college-level talent on every team. My favorite moment was playing against Cheverus in the 2006 playoffs at the Civic Center. Cheverus had a ton of size and played match-up zone.

One moment from off the court was the bus ride home from Bonny Eagle. What should have been a quick, easy trip turned into a mess in the middle of a snowstorm. It was one of those moments where you had to be there to believe it.

Work

I currently work at C.R. Tandberg Inc., an excavation company that does both commercial and residential site work. My grandfather started the company in 1949. I am currently the Vice President of the company and wear many hats. My day-to-day duties vary from estimating jobs to running heavy equipment on a job site. I worked for the company in the summers throughout my teenage years and have worked full time since I graduated college in 2011.

For Fun

Activities in Maine generally depend on the season we are in. In the summer, there is nothing better than boating on Sebago Lake! The winter brings snow and cold temperature days. When I’m not plowing snow, you can usually catch me hibernating watching basketball at any level.

Favorite Windham Memories

As a freshman, I had the opportunity to guard our best player at the time named TJ Tandberg who was a senior. That was the single best experience of my basketball career as I learned what it meant to compete with the best. We would go back and forth every day at practice constantly fighting. That made me a better defender and competitor. There is no better way to find out how mentally and physically tough you are than to go up against the best you can. I failed every day, but week after week I got better and better.

Off the court, one of my most fond memories was volunteering with the Special Olympics each year out on the football field. It was a great experience to spend time with those youth. It put life into perspective for me at a young age and something I continue to do today. I would recommend it to any young man or woman who is at the school today. There is no greater feeling than to give back to those around you.

Family

The family is the most important aspect of my life. A great piece of advice is that our family is not always your blood. Your family is your friends, those who step in to take care of you, or anyone who cares about you more than themselves. That is the true definition of family. Those who are willing to give unconditional love and the hard advice that you need in life.
