Eagles improve their record

Windham hosted the Bonny Eagle Scots Tuesday evening and fans from both sides filled the bleachers as the two teams tipped off. Both the Eagles and the Scots have new varsity coaches on their respective benches, each one driving their teams to victory; Chad Pulkkinen for the Eagles and Mike Francouer for the Scots.
Eagles senior Kyle Kilfoil won the tip off to begin the game. The rivalry between Bonny Eagle and Windham extended to the basketball court as the games momentum only picked up as the clocked counted down. What began as fast paced game continued throughout the first half, which ended with the Eagles ahead 27-22.
Mike Gilman finished with a game-high 21 points for the Eagles – six of these being 3-point shots along with Nick Curtis adding 16 points to the board as they pulled away from the Scots in the second half to clench the win. In addition, with these baskets what stood out for the Eagles was their defense on the court. Zach Petcher pulled down seven rebounds for Windham along with putting up his own four points. Hunter Coffin took three charges and was able to stop Bonny Eagles leading scorer in the second half of the game, allowing him to only score one point. The efforts of the team both offensively and defensively stood out during this game and made the end result a win for the Eagles.
Next home game for the Eagles is this Friday, January 8th at 5:30 p.m. against Noble.
WINDHAM 58, BONNY EAGLE 39: Mike Gilman made six 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 21 points for the Eagles (4-5) as they pulled away from the Scots (1-8) in the second half to win at Windham.
Nicholas Curtis added 16 points and Zach Petcher pulled down seven rebounds for Windham, which led 27-22 at halftime.
The Scots were led by Troy Bogdahn with 10 points. Windham held Bogdahn to 1 point in the second half.
