Boys’ basketball: Maine Sunday Telegram 2018 All-State team
This year’s list includes eight seniors and four juniors.
Nick Curtis, Windham senior guard: Curtis led the SMAA in assists for a third straight season (6.6 per game) and was a dynamic scorer with his ability to get to the rim and shoot 3-pointers. A 1,000-point scorer for his career, Curtis averaged 20.1 points and 5.5 rebounds this season as the Eagles made it to the Class AA North final, upsetting No. 1 Portland in the semifinals.
Finn Bowe, Cape Elizabeth senior guard: A 6-foot-4 senior with superior court awareness and a quick release, Bowe was named Western Maine Conference Player of the Year. He averaged 18.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.2 steals while making 48 3-pointers in the regular season.
Zach Brown, Greely junior guard: The 6-1 Brown led the Rangers to a second straight undefeated Class A championship season. He averaged 14.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.4 steals, and shot 39.7 percent from 3-point range (29 of 73).

Nick Fiorillo, Scarborough junior forward: In his second year as a starter, the 6-7 Fiorillo raised his game and led the Red Storm to their first regional championship. Able to score inside and out (44 3-pointers), Fiorillo averaged 19.9 points and 8.2 rebounds.
Matt Fleming, Bangor junior forward: A finalist for Gatorade Maine Player of the Year, the 6-5 Fleming averaged 23.8 points, 13.2 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 2.0 assists. He scored 45 points in a 66-64 win at Windham in the regular season, believed to be a Bangor single-game record.
Jacob Godfrey, Hermon senior forward/center: The leader of the well-balanced and unbeaten Class B state champions, the 6-6 Godfrey averaged 12.3 points and 8.1 rebounds while shooting 54 percent from the floor.
Griffin Guerrette, Presque Isle senior guard: The 6-0 point guard impressed coaches across the state with his quick first step and scoring ability. He averaged 28.4 points and had six 30-point games, including two in the 40s. He also averaged 4.7 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.3 steals.
Wol Maiwen, Edward Little junior center: The “difference maker” at both ends of the court for the Class AA champs, according to Coach Mike Adams, Maiwen became an offensive force, averaging 18 points while continuing to be among the state’s best rim protectors and grabbing nine rebounds per game.
Zac Manoogian, Westbrook senior guard: One of the state’s best at creating his own offense, the 5-11 St. Joseph’s College-bound guard also became a shut-down defender. He averaged 17.9 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.2 steals and 2.5 assists, with 45 3-pointers, and shot 81 percent from the line. In three tournament games, he averaged 29.3 points as the Blue Blazes reached the Class A South final.
Ian McIntyre, Hampden senior center: A finalist for Mr. Maine Basketball, the powerful 6-5 McIntyre averaged 18 points and nine rebounds while shooting 65 percent from the floor. He finished his career with more than 1,000 points and 500 rebounds.
Terion Moss, Portland senior guard: The Telegram Player of the Year, Moss also earned his second Gatorade Maine Player of the Year award and was Mr. Maine Basketball. The 5-10 point guard and UMaine recruit averaged 19.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 2.9 steals. A 1,000-point scorer, Moss made 40 3-pointers on 42 percent shooting.
Taylor Schildroth, George Stevens Academy senior guard: The 6-1 Schildroth led George Stevens to its third straight Class C state title, averaging 24.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 5.9 steals while shooting 46 percent from the floor. A repeat All-State pick, Schildroth was a finalist for Mr. Maine Basketball.
Coach of the Year
Mike Adams, Edward Little: A respected veteran coach, Adams led the Red Eddies to the Class AA title – the school’s first state championship since 1946. He melded returning and new talent into a superior defensive team that went 18-4. “It’s not just how he won but how he put everything together. He got it done,” said Portland Coach Joe Russo.
